Dear Robert,
Ah, February... the middle of the
winter when the excitement of Christmas is past, the
thrill of turning the calendar year has diminished, the
Chinese
New Year has been dually celebrated and we're left
wondering a) where on earth did these extra 10
lbs.
come from? and b) when will the dark dreary
days of
February end? (According to Canada's Ground
Hog -
not for another six weeks! Our American friends have
fared a little better.) Thank goodness Valentine's Day
is peaking around the corner - chocolate makes
everything feel better!
Actually, for those of you who
have not turned on the radio, television or opened a
paper in the last few
weeks, February is "Heart & Stroke
Awareness Month". It's wonderful to hear all of
the "heart healthy" tips being offered such as: not
smoking, eating more fresh (live) foods every
day and exercising at least 30 minutes most days. Is
this
actually NEWS to anyone? Of course, the one key
element most are missing is Detoxification of
all those
stored chemicals and poisons in your system. Well,
let's make it our
mission in 2006 to yell long and loud that this missing
component play a larger role in next year's Heart
Disease
prevention and reversal messaging.
But enough of the heavy stuff. This
month, we're all about love and fun. In honour of
Valentine's Day and Heart Month, we're focusing our
attention to the age old subject of LOVE;
and who
couldn't use a little more love in their lives?
Once again, we've scoured the web
to bring you news you can use about Love -
everything from our Top Ten Love Movies and songs
to the ever-popular Cuddle Party to the history of
Valentine's Day and the amazing health benefits of -
you guessed it - chocolate!
So grab your favourite beverage,
sit down and put a little love in your life.
Until next
month,
Warmest Regards!

| One - The Movie |
 |
|
Early one morning, in April, 2002, a
middle-aged father of three from Michigan suddenly
awoke from a sound sleep, overcome by a strange
compulsion... to make a movie about the meaning of
life. What made this so strange, is that he was not a
film-maker. In fact, he had no training, education or
experience whatsoever in the field. So, he
immediately called his cousin and best friend to enlist
their help with the project. They eagerly agreed.
Problem: They were not film-makers either. Over the
next two years, their film-making journey led them to
speak
with some of the greatest spiritual leaders of modern
time. An amazing story of how the Universe will
conspire to help you when your vision is strong
enough. And how we all truly are One.

| The History of Valentine's Day |
 |
|
As early as the fourth century B.C.,
the Romans engaged in an annual young man's rite to
passage to the God Lupercus. The names of the
teenage women were placed in a box and drawn at
random by adolescent men; thus, a man was
assigned a woman companion for the duration of the
year, after which another lottery was staged. After
eight hundred years of this cruel practice, the early
church fathers sought to end it... They found an
answer in Valentine, a bishop who had been
martyred some two hundred years earlier.

| Reiki - The Spiritual Massage |
 |
|
Reiki is a Japanese technique for
stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes
healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is
based on the idea that an unseen "life force
energy" flows through us and is what causes us
to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we
are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is
high, we are more capable of being happy, balanced
and
healthy.

and sail to the islands. You're too fat or too thin or
too short or too tall. Well, If he's between the ages
of 40 and 60 (give or take a few years),

| Aphrodisiac Foods & Recipes |
 |
|
Aphrodisiacs were first sought out
as a remedy for various sexual anxieties including
fears of inadequate performance as well as a need to
increase fertility. Procreation was an important moral
and religious issue and aphrodisiacs were sought to
insure both male and female potency. In ancient
times a distinction was made between a substance
that increased fertility versus one that simply
increased sex drive. In any case, many ancient foods
are still thought to carry aphrodisiac qualities
today.

| Cuddle up with a Bunch of Strangers? You Betcha! |
 |
|
In a society that is increasingly
touch-phobic, many of us aren't getting our
Recommended Daily
Allowance of welcomed touch.
For many people, the only options for getting their
touch needs met consist of paying for a massage,
having a drunken hookup or getting a pat-down from
airport security. The brainchild of two relationship
coaches, Cuddle Party was conceived in Feburary
2004. Cuddle Party is a non-sexual, playful social
event designed
for adults to explore communication, boundaries and
affection.
