Carbon - The wave of the future
There are many types of materials that emit far infrared sauna heat including ceramic, steel, incoloy rods, and carbon. We chose organic carbon due to the proven effectiveness and efficiency of carbon. The human body consists mostly of carbon, so the frequency at which it receives far infrared sauna heat is perfectly compatible with the Solocarbon® heater. Size Matters
Solocarbon® is the largest far infrared sauna heater available. Larger heating area results in a broad distribution of more far infrared sauna heat.
More Heat is Better
Larger surface area results in lower surface temperatures for better results. Conventional and other far infrared sauna heaters operate at a surface temperature between 300°F and 1000°F. Sunlight Solocarbon® heaters operate at a low 100° - 200°F. More of the vital far- infrared light energy is emitted at a lower surface temperature.

Heat tries to distribute itself as equally as possible. ¹ Therefore, smaller heaters concentrate the heat and larger heaters spread it out resulting in lower surface temperatures. Wein's Law of Displacement states that the wavelength is inversely proportional to temperature of the source. ²
